Municipal padel courts in Marbella: €3 an hour, and how to book

Padel in Marbella has a reputation for being expensive. It does not have to be: the town council rents out courts for €3.08 an hour — about 77 cents per player — against €25 to €37 at a private club.

The catch is that the booking system is unintuitive and the council website explains almost none of it. So I made a real booking and photographed every screen. This is exactly what you will see.

What it actually costs

CourtPrice per hour
Padel court, no floodlights€3.08
Padel court with floodlights€5.14

Confirmed on 22 September 2026: booking a court at Paco Cantos from 16:00 to 17:00, the checkout showed exactly €3.08.

Floodlights apply from 19:00 in winter and from 21:00 in summer. The exact floodlit price is still to be confirmed.

You do not need to be a resident. There is no difference in price between registered Marbella residents and everyone else, and no membership is required. Anyone, including visitors, can create an account and book.

Where the municipal courts are

There are seven municipal padel courts, across two sites:

FacilityCourtsLast bookable slot
Polideportivo Paco CantosPadel 1, 2 and 321:00 – 22:00
Complejo Francisco NortePadel 1, 2, 3 and 420:00 – 21:00

A detail you will not find elsewhere: at Francisco Norte the 21:00–22:00 slot is always greyed out as unavailable. For a late game, it has to be Paco Cantos.

Booking hours run from 09:00 to 22:00, in one-hour slots.

How to book, step by step

1. Go to the booking platform

The address is marbella.i2a.es/CronosWeb/Login. You can also reach it from the council website: Deportes → Alquiler de instalaciones → Reserva y pago online, then the blue bar.

2. Click “Acceso identificado”

It is the only option. There is no way to book without an account.

3. Register, if it is your first time

Under the login fields there is a link that says Registrarse (register). The whole platform is in Spanish, so it is worth having a translator tab open.

4. Choose “Reserva de espacios”

You land on a panel with ten options. The one you want is Reserva de espacios — “space booking” — with the racket icon.

8. Read the availability grid

  • Green — free, you can book it.
  • Red — taken.
  • Grey — not available at that hour.
  • Yellow — what you have just selected.

10. Pay by card

You get a summary: sport, date, court, start and end time, and the amount. Card is the only payment method — you cannot book online and pay at the desk.

When there is actually space

Looking at the grid for an ordinary Tuesday in September, the pattern is unmistakable:

  • 17:00 to 22:00 is almost entirely booked. That is when everyone finishes work.
  • 12:00 to 16:00 has plenty of room. If you can play at midday, you will find a court the same day.
  • Early mornings are half empty.

For visitors this is good news: the hours locals cannot play are exactly the hours you probably can.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a resident of Marbella?

No. Municipal rates make no distinction between registered residents and anyone else, and registration is open to all.

Can I pay cash?

Not online — card only. In person, courts are rented at the Oficina de Instalaciones (c/ Magallanes s/n) and at the Palacio de los Deportes in San Pedro Alcántara.

How many municipal padel courts are there?

Seven: three at Polideportivo Paco Cantos and four at Complejo Francisco Norte.

Do they hire out rackets?

Still to be confirmed at the facility. Assume not, and bring your own or hire one from a private club.
